Laghu Rudra Puja
in Ujjain
Eleven complete Rudrabhisheks performed in a single continuous ritual — for powerful blessings in health, career, relationships, and life's major wishes.
What is Laghu Rudra Puja?
In the Vedic tradition, the Laghu Rudra is a complete Rudrabhishek repeated eleven times in a single ritual session. The word laghu (small) distinguishes it from the Maha Rudra (121 times) and Ati Rudra (1,331 times), but make no mistake — Laghu Rudra is a deeply powerful ritual that requires an entire day and multiple pandits to complete.
The ritual involves the continuous chanting of the Sri Rudram and Chamakam — the most sacred Shiva hymns from the Krishna Yajurveda — along with Vedic abhishek of the Shivlinga with panchamrit (milk, curd, ghee, honey, sugar) and sacred waters.
Performing Laghu Rudra at Mahakaleshwar Ujjain — one of the 12 Jyotirlingas — is considered to multiply the ritual's power manifold.
